The Great Willows
See here the basic idea of one of the Elven willows.
Four willows surround the Elven territory. A connecting barrier between each allows or denies the passing of people and creatures.
Within the Willow of Aluh'Nehn live the water Elves or aquinians. The Willow of D'irdda, the gaians(earth Elves). The Willow of Mae'Ehr, the windavians(wind Elves) and the Willow of Na'Ur, the volcavians(fire Elves).
Elves are the reigning specie on Zirconya so, as you can imagine, there are many of them. Though each willow houses the race of Elves in that territory (Mae'Ehr Willow houses only wind Elves, etc), not all Elves live in a willow. The "city life" Elves reside within the willows and are usually more...discriminating. (Think of a willow as a city) Many other Elves live in the surrounding areas, still within the Elven barrier.
That's not to say there are not Elves outside of the Elven barrier. There are rogues and nomad Elves that cannot stay in one place for too long a time and enjoy multi-cultural living on the road and throughout Zirconya.
The Sages do not reside within the willows. Each Sage resides within her own "chamber." That will be in another lesson.
